Des joined the Growing up in Ireland team in November 2017 as a Research Analyst. He holds a B.Sc. in Applied Psychology from UCC, an M.Sc. in Applied Psychology from TCD, a Higher Diploma in Statistics from TCD and completed his PhD in Psychology at TCD. His PhD research deals with attitudes to testing, attitudes to technology and how this relates to overall computer usage and test performance in traditional pen and paper and computerised test modes.
He has previously worked as a research assistant at the Educational Research Centre, the DCU School of Nursing, and as a research officer at the National Suicide Research Foundation. His research interests include multilevel modelling, longitudinal modelling, and structural equation modelling.
