About the Children’s Advisory Forum

Growing Up in Ireland is a study of children, for children and with children. To this end the Children’s Advisory Forum (CAF) has been set up to make sure the voices of children are heard within the study.

The role of the CAF is to advise us on how best to run the study and to make sure we include the views and opinions of children when we are making decisions.

The CAF is made up of 84 children who sit on 12 committees in schools across Ireland. Seven boys and girls sit on each committee. The schools in which these committees sit are spread across several regions including Limerick, Cork, Westmeath, Dublin and Wicklow. These regions were chosen in order to represent all types of schools and communities.
