Jillian Heffernan works as the Communications Officer on the study and is based in the Children’s Research Centre. She is responsible for the development and implementation of the Communications Strategy. This involves establishing and maintaining communications channels with a wide variety of the study’s key audiences and engaging with the media. She is also involved in the running of the Children’s Advisory Forum.

Prior to joining the Centre Jillian worked as a Public Relations Consultant with one of Dublin's leading PR agencies developing and implementing communications strategies for a number of private and public sector clients. She also worked as a radio journalist and sub-editor with RTE news.

Jillian graduated from DCU with a BA (Hons) in Journalism in 2000 and has also received a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Relations from the PRII.
